## Objective
Develop consistent technique, court awareness, and team communication in ball control, down balls, hitting, offense, passing, pass-set-hit, setting through high-repetition game-like execution.

## Setup & Court Layout
- Players: 3 passers per side, 1 setter per side, line of players waiting at the middle back

- Coach: Positioned with volleyballs to initiate free balls

- Court: Full court with two active sides

- Equipment: Volleyballs, net

## Step-by-Step Instructions
- Coach initiates play with a free ball toss.

- Receiving side passes to the setter.

- Setter sets to one of three options:

- Right or Left Player: Attacker executes a controlled down ball to the opposite court, then rotates off to the back line.

- Middle Player: Attack stays live, and no one rotates out; all players stay for the next ball.

- The opposite side runs the same sequence simultaneously.

- Continue cycling until each player rotates through all positions.

- Suggested reps: Run for 8–10 minutes or until every player completes 6–8 quality down balls.

## Key Coaching Points
- Down Ball Execution: Players should control their swing and aim for purposeful targets.

- Setter Decision-Making: Encourage setters to vary location and tempo.

- Communication: Players must call every ball clearly.

- Rotation Discipline: Ensure smooth player transitions after each contact.

- Common Game Situation: Replicates real rallies where attackers must use controlled down balls to extend play or apply pressure to the defense.

This is a mid-practice skill drill that works on both team ball control and attacking decision-making while keeping players engaged and active.

## Variations & Progressions
- Back Row Attacking: Replace down balls with back row attacks for more advanced play.

- Serve Start: Begin rallies with serves instead of coach tosses to increase game realism.

- Target Focus: Require hitters to aim for specific zones (deep corners, seams).
