## Objective
Develop consistent technique, court awareness, and team communication in ball control, defense, down balls, hitting, offense, passing, pass-set-hit, setting through high-repetition game-like execution.

## Setup & Court Layout
- Players: 3 back-row passers per side, 1 setter per side, lines of players waiting to rotate in

- Coach: Positioned with volleyballs to initiate free balls

- Court: Full court, focusing on back-row execution

- Equipment: Volleyballs, net

## Step-by-Step Instructions
- Coach initiates play with a free ball toss to one side (near the 10-foot line).

- Back-row passer steps forward to pass to the setter, then quickly backs up for a hitting approach.

- Setter sets back to the same passer.

- The passer-turned-hitter executes a controlled attack, aiming directly at an opponent on the opposite side (not at the floor).

- If the ball does not go directly to the intended opposing player, that defender is eliminated and rotates out. A new player steps into the spot.

- Play continues until only one player remains.

- Suggested reps: Run 2–3 elimination rounds, each lasting 6–8 minutes depending on group size.

## Key Coaching Points
- Hitting Accuracy: Stress purposeful swings to a target, not just hard-driven balls.

- Setter Consistency: Encourage clean sets to allow controlled attacks.

- Defensive Readiness: Defenders should stay low and be ready for targeted swings.

- Competition Energy: Keep pace quickly to maintain engagement.

- Common Game Situation: Replicates back-row attacks and controlled swings where accuracy to a specific target can extend rallies or apply tactical pressure.

This drill is excellent as a competitive ball control challenge for mid- to late-practice, keeping intensity high while training accuracy and decision-making.

## Variations & Progressions
- Serve Start: Begin rallies with a serve instead of a coach toss.

- Target Zones: Require hitters to aim for specific zones or certain players.

- Double Contact Requirement: Passer must pass, set, then hit to increase touches per rally.
