Long Distance Back Setting Drill

Setup

  1. Split players into groups of two.
  2. Each pair of players start on opposite sides of the court facing each other.
  3. Each pair will need a ball.

Instructions

  1. Play starts by having one of the players set a ball to themselves, turning around with their back to their partner, and back setting the ball across the court to their partner.
  2. The partner then sets it to themselves, turn, and return a set to their partner.
  3. This pattern is repeated until the accuracy and control is obtained.

Variations

  • Bring the players closer for beginners or players struggling with the long distance.
  • Have a competition to see how many sets can be performed in a predefined time frame.
