Partner Setting and Overhead Passing Drill
This partner setting and overhead passing drill works on perfecting the overhead pass and setting in partners. In this drill, one player is working on their setting skills while the other player is only responsible for throwing the ball to the working player.

VOLLEYBALL SETTING DRILLS
- Instruct the players to split into partners with one ball between the two players.
- Players should position themselves about 10 to 20 feet apart depending on the skill level of the players.
- One player is working on setting and overhead passes while the other player is only responsible for tossing the ball to the working player.
- The setting player should position themselves near the net and the throwing player about 10 feet away facing them.
- The thrower will toss a ball to the setting player who simply returns a set back to the thrower.
- The thrower should catch the ball and repeat. By having the thrower catch the ball the setting player can focus on receiving a clean ball and focus on ball control.
- Have the players switch roles after a predefined time or after a certain number of sets.
- Have the setting player move 2-3 steps to the right, left, back, or front and the thrower should toss the ball to the new spot and have the setter return the ball after moving.
- Focus on good clean contact and proper setting form.
