Lateral Passing

The technique of playing the ball outside the body's midline by tilting the platform angle toward the target while maintaining shoulder discipline.

Let Serve

A legally served ball that touches the top of the net tape during flight but still crosses over into the opponent's court and remains in play.

Libero

A defensive specialist wearing a contrasting jersey who possesses unlimited back-row substitutions, cannot attack above net height, and cannot set with overhand fingers in the front court for a front-row attack.

Line

The 5cm (2-inch) perimeter boundaries marking the court dimensions (sidelines and endlines); a ball that touches any part of the boundary line is ruled in.

Line Shot

A straight attack driven parallel and close to the opponent's sideline, sneaking inside the block or beating an over-committing cross-court defense.
